THE FUTURE

The Toarp Estate is full of heritage and exciting stories from past times. In the midst of everything it meets today and the future.

Gästgiveri [jɛɧɪvɛriː] was a setting for travelers on the roads where food and accommodation would be offered as well as possibilities for changing horses for carriage. This was regulated by the Gästgiveri Charter and in 1615 (under Queen Kristina), a statute was issued, and all government officers were ordered to ensure that guest houses were located at all country roads at 9 1/2 mile intervals. Food and accommodation would be offered in the cottages of the innkeepers, some special building was rarely found.
